"When i was a kid, my grandparents lived near a pizza place in Pennant Hills in Sydney (Belmontes Pizzeria) - a family business where the pizzas came so stacked with topping you could feed the family - and the flavour was just great wood fire taste. Ive forever searched for this nostalgia and i found it here - the bases coukd be slightly thicker but the topping ratio was fantastic - one pizza and just high quality flavour. I was surprised to see so much crab meat on the menu and wasnt so keen, but tried the chicken satay and Lamb pizzas (50/50). Id love to see a peri peri or other chicken flavour. If you are questioning whether to try.. dont question. Just try it."

"Merlins Varsity Lakes is the Best Pizza on the Gold Cast. I was living in Burleigh waters for 12 months in Temp accomodation whilst we re built our Palm Beach house and Merlins Varsity is a VERY different experience to Palm Beach Merlins. Loads of toppings, ver accomodating to custom toppings and add ons and they always get it right. The pizza was honestly easily double the weight of the the same pizza at Palm Beach Merlins. Even thought i am back in Palm Beach now and after 2 attempts at Pizza from Palm Beach ill be driving the extra distance to the Varsity store to MUCH better value for the same price. When i questioned the staff at Palm Beach about it he was not interested and made no effort to make a customer happy. Varsity Merlins keep doing what your doing."
